Thousands of pedigree puppies are bred each year throughout the country. The vast majority are healthy and will lead a happy normal life. Most people are aware of puppy farms. However, there are many breeders who cut corners in attempts to make money from new owners. When buying puppy check out the breeder  and make sure you are getting a healthy puppy.

“Hi I’m Zack. Unfortunately I am not too well as a result of poor breeding practices. I suffer from Hip and Elbow Dysplacia which means I have difficulty walking and getting up at times. I cant go out running or walking with the other dogs because I am in too much pain. I am one of the lucky dogs as my new family are going to look after me as best as they can and I get plenty of love from them. In return I wag my tail a lot to keep them smiling. Thousands of dogs are not so lucky and often get sent to rescue centres for someone else to look after them or even worse. If you are reading this, you probably have a dog yourself. My owners support a number of charities that promote animal welfare. The people that bred me did so from parents and granparents who had a history of poor health but never told anyone about it. When my owners found out I was poorly from Hip and Elbow Dysplacia the breeders said "Nobody could stop them breeding" and they carried on and had another litter which was at risk of the same problems I have. Some breeders just don't care what the consequences are as long as they can sell a litter. I am nearly three now and I will soon have to have several opperations on my legs to try and help me walk better as I get older. The sad thing is that very few people in the dog world did anything to try and stop the breeders doing it again.
