About us and our dogs

We live just outside Edinburgh with our seven dogs and young boy. Our dogs have taken over our lives and there is no doubt we are dog lovers through and through. In fact they are just an extension of our family. It is important that for anyone to consider buying one of our puppies that they feel comfortable about us and as such we like to keep everything above board.

Our families have been involved in the ownership and breeding of Pedigree dogs for over 30 years. My wife’s family bred Champion Boxer dogs for over 30 years while I have owned German Shepherds for 20 years and worked with them professionally. My main interest is with gundogs while that of my wife rests with the show ring.

Our love of dogs has developed from this and we have between us 20 years of experience with Pedigree dogs. Our natural love of dogs has progressed and we now have the occasional litter and show some of our dogs. Not all of our dogs are for breeding or the show ring. Above all our dogs are companion animals, living at home as part of the family environment and always will be, with showing and breeding coming second to the wellbeing of our dogs. We currently own a German Shepherd, two Bernese Mountain Dogs, three working English Springer Spaniels and a Large Munsterlander puppy. We are fortunate that we have the open space and facilities to keep our dogs, all of who complement our daily lives and interests. Many people ask how we cope with so many dogs and a young family – it is simple with a good routine and putting them first.    

We ourselves have been on the receiving end of irresponsible breeding and have our own disabled dog. This has not put us off owning Pedigree dogs but made us more resilient in ensuring that we do everything we can for our own dogs and puppies. We are advocates of Animal Welfare and strive to improve the health and wellbeing of our breeds and currently support a number of dog charities as well as being members of a number of breed clubs. I have also recently lobbied Parliament and have an early morning motion being raised on my behalf with regard to responsible dog breeding.
